Hi I'm having sharp pain on my right side of my chest .. I'm a smoker so I'm getting worried it can be something serious, wondering if I should go to the emergency room? It started out yesterday...the pain comes and goes but when it comes it's very hard to ignore...
Hi, pain in chest is likely due to. 1. muscular chest pain. 2. pleuritic chest pain. 3. cardiac pain called angina. In case there is pain on local pressure it is likely a muscular pain which can get relieved by muscle relaxants or painkillers( diclofenac), local analgesic application and hot fomentation. If the pain increases on deep breathing , then you require a chest X Ray. In case there is no relief of pain despite analgesics, then kindly consult your physician snd get yourself evaluated. Hope it helps.
