What Is The Reason To Prescribe Contraceptive?

hi, im 25 and i have PCOS, doctor prescribed me Ovigyn D , metformin 850mg, B-long F, and Novelon, which is a contraceptive. Why did she prescribe contraceptive if i am taking medicines for ovulation to get pregnant? Taking all this medicines, contraceptive will work or not?
