What Is The Remedy For Lucan Plantus Causing Bleeding In The Gums?
Hi, My sister in law has been diagnosed with Lucan Plantus of the skin and of the anal area. She has some bleeding of the mouth but had a biopsy and they said it was not caused by Lucan Plantus. Se went to a gum specialist and had a deep cleaning done twice but the bleeding is still occurring. What should she do? Is there a doctor who specializes in this condition. She also went to her dermatologist who observed her mouth and said it is not Lucan Plantus.
Hello, Welcome to healthcare magic. I understand from your query that your relative is having bleeding from the gums and a biopsy reports it as lichen planus. ( I think you have made a spelling error). Since she has not benefited form the dental treatment and since the dermatologist says it is not lichen planus, I suggest that you get an opinion from another dermatologist. The possibilities of Lichen planus and Pemphigus could be kept in mind. She might benefit from getting another biopsy done along with a test called Immunofluorescence. The treatment for this includes topical steroid paste, oral steroids or immunosuppressants depending on the severity. Gum cleaning can worsen the problem. This also requires regular follow up. Hope this helps you. Take care.
