What Is The Remedy For A Painful And Swollen Ankle?

Hi. I ve had a painful swollen ankle for about 9 months now. Sometimes it s so painful I can hardly walk. After seeing my GP last September I ve now finally started physio and seen a podiatrist a couple of weeks ago. The exercises ghe physio gave me made the pain worse. The podiatrist said my bone on the inside of my ankle is calcified and he can t help me until the swelling and pain are reduced. Why would my bone be calcified? It looks like a huge bulge on the inside of my ankle.

It looks to me that you are having calcified tissue, which may be a loose body in your joint. Have you done your MRI , it will give us more information about how to further manage your ankle joint. I think you can go ahead with ankle arthroscopy, in which calcium is removed from joint with the help of camera.
