What Is The Remedy For Chemical Burn And Hives?

My hubby got a chemical burn from Just for Men. His whole chin has been swollen for 2 days. And he looks like he has tiny red sores all over. And clear fluid has been comming out of it and now it's all turning a yellow color. He also has hives on his neck and chest. What is the best thing to do?

Dermatologist 's  Response
Hello and welcome to healthcaremagic.

It seems that the chin area got secondarily infected with bacteria, over and above the chemical burn/irritant dermatitis.

If I was your treating doctor I would have started him on oral antibiotics (penicillin group e.g Amoxycillin ) for a week.

A topical steroid+antibiotic combination cream can be applied twice daily at the irritated spot.

An OTC antihistamine e.g cetrizine once daily would help him symptomatically.

regards
