What Is The Remedy For Diarrhea When On Ciprofloxacin?

Hi, I felt I wanted too be but there were no pee and the feeling never went away, so I took some amoxicilin (or something like that) to be able to sleep. A few days later I went to a Doctor who told me to take Ciprofloxacin, but the same day I got diarrhea and now that I check I have blood!! What is going on? Is this suppose to happen?

Hi, I had gone through your query and understand your concerns.

I would like to suggest that Antibiotics to be taken with prescription of the Doctor only ( Which is usually prescribed if necessary only ).As per Information provided , There seems to Gastroenterology disturbances which need to be evaluated and then medicines accordingly.
The most common disturbances is Acute Ge /GERD which may not require a antibiotic always (unless Infection established).Yes , Cipro can cause Gastro disturbances .I sincerely suggest to visit a Gastroenterology on priority and go about on further plan of treatment (rather than taking antibiotic after antibiotic which can lead to drug resistance later).

Meanwhile , I suggest an antacid --Tab.Nexpro 40 mg Once day (20 min before food ) for 5 days and consult a Gastroenterologist for further evaluation.
