What Is The Remedy For The Red, Swollen And Pain Causing Rash On The Hip?
Hi, I had a graze on my hip so I used some savlon liquid but didnt read it and then found out I should have diluted it. The area of skin is now bright red and swollen and is causing alot of pain because of where it is it even hurts to walk. Could you please advise me what to do. Kind Regards Mark
Savlon or dettol should never be used undiluted, now it has irritated the skin and you have pain, swelling and skin of the affected area is raw and red. You are suggested to wash the affected area with normal clean water and apply a thick layer of Soframycin ointment locally for relieve.
Do not touch or scratch it. Protect it from getting infected so that healing will be better and faster. You can take acetaminophen or Naproxen, one SOS to ease pain, swelling and discomfort. You can take a course of Augmentin so that the wound heals in time. Get it clinically examined in the ER, if the wound is deep you may need to get a tetanus injection for safer side.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
