What Is The Remedy For Weight Loss After Being Treated For Urinary Tract Infection And Abdominal Pain?

This past year I have been constantly put on different antibiotics to treat a urinary tract infection ( 12 different antibiotics in 13 months) and recently the urine tests have been good, but I still wake up in the night with a burning, cramplike abdominal pain (I haven't had a full night of sleep in months because of this pain). I was told that it is probably gastritis, so now I'm on different medication again. Since Christmas I have lost almost 20lbs. and even the bland diet I try to eat makes me feel like retching. Before this started I was a healthy active 85 year old female and now I feel like I'm going to die. I know this sounds a bit dramatic but I have never felt so bad in my life and I'm very frustrated with my family GP. I think there is something more serious happening to me. Any advice would be welcome.

Hello,
Welcome to HCM,
I had gone through your history and understand your concern,
As you have taken 12 different antibiotics in last one year for your UTI, these medicine might i have led to the erosion of gastric mucosa.
Erosion of the gastric mucosa might be causing severe abdominal pain. Whenever there is a severe gastritis you cannot take adequate amount food. This has led to your weight loss.
For your symptoms you should consult the gastroenterologist for undergoing endoscopy to find out the problems in the GIT.
This will help us to know what exactly you are having and then we can decide the further course of action.
I hope you are convinced with my answer.
Thank you.
