hai doctor . my doctor prescribed me obimet *SR 500mg (metformin hydrochloride prolonged released tablets I.p) for irregular periods ....previously I experienced heavy bleeding for 13 pads a day .....due to pigmentation and weight lgain she prescribed me this tablet with yasmin tablets.....how to use Obimet *SR 500 mg tablets(I mean dosage) because I forgot the instructions and I am in my native place

hi, as your symptoms are related to your menstrual cycle I suppose your docotr prescribed Obimet for PCOS (Polycystic ovarian syndrome)
For PCOS, Metformin (Obimet) is usually started with 500 mg once daily dose, then increased to 500 mg twice daily after 1 week and then 3 times daily after another week.
