What Is The Solution For Cough And Nasal Congestion?
I have had cough and nasal congestion since Tues., been treating it with Claritin, cough syrup and Vicks rub. No fever, but not much relief, though cough seems a little looser. How much longer should I wait before asking for antibiotic? Had whooping cough last year, so I m a little weary of waiting.
Hello As you mentioned in your query that you are having nasal congestion & cough ,but no relief . You took claritin ( clarithromycin ) cough syrup and vicks ( for cold ). Claritin is an antibiotics . When such patient visit to me in my clinic I usually advise them to take monteleukast+ bambuterol ( combo pack ) twice in day for 5-7 days or till complete relief . I also adviser them to take hot coffee and lonzges ( for local use in throat) . Since these are prescription drugs so please consult a physician and get his opinion. Good luck.
