What Is The Suggested Advice For The MRI Scan Revealing Hematoma?
I am trying to read a radiologist report and do not know what it means. Can you explain to me where the damage is? Here is the excerpt from the report: MRI Scan then revealed a hypointense area of T1 signal in the left temporal lobe with a small foci of hyperintensity within it. The hyperintense area seen on T1 weighted images appeared hypointense on T2 weighted images. There was edema surrounding the lesion. The findings were consistent with a hematoma. A CT scan performed 4 hours later confirmed a large hematoma with surrounding edema involving the left temporal/parietal/occipital lobes.
There is a large hemorrhage or bleed in the brain. The size of the bled is not known but if it grows larger then it can be dangerous to the patient. You have not mentioned the clinical problems hence I think it is a spontaneous hemorrhage because of hypertension or aneurysm. Patient needs to be under critical care and monitored round the clock.
