What Is The Suggested Cure To Reduce Severe Facial Pain?

Hi, I have spent the last 2 days in bed with severe facial pain, it came on very suddenly, affecting all the teeth top and bottom on the left hand side of my face, pain going into my left ear left eye and across the face, I have had similar attacks in the past 6 months, for no apparant reason,(lasting up to 1 hr) this time it lasted on and off for 48 hours, very severe pain, any noise, or movement around me made it worse, I was taking codeine, and Amitriptyline, (probably more than I should have been) but I just could not get away from the pain, is there anything else I can do, and should I seek help from my GP.

Hi.
Thanks for your query.
Obviously you have to get the help of your GP so that you get a clinical evaluation and investigations .
Probable causes can be hypertension causing arterial loop around the trigeminal nerve and so on.
MRI is very important.
Get the consultation of a neurologist also whenever possible as getting the appointment is very difficult I know.
I find this answer helpful
