What Is The Tapering Guideline For Xanax?

What is the AMA or APA guideline for tapering an individual off of longterm high dose use of benzos such as Xanax? I am interested in the amount of time recommended as safe between lowering dosage and the dosage amount to be lowered and the timing of any cross over, for instance to a longer half life benzo such as valium.

HI
Well come to HCM
I really appreciate your concern, it is all depends upon the clinical condition you have and age, gender, since how long the medicine being taken, as long as the Benzodiazepine is concern tapering not needed if the medicine is there since long being, psychiatric advise is needed for better management hope this information helps.
