Quarter size welt shows up behind the ear a week ago along with cold like symptoms. Went to the doctor and was prescribed antibiotics and a steroid. Welts have spread behind the ear and up the hairline and first initial welt has started to kinda bubble. The cold symptoms are not better
Understanding your concern. As per your query you have symptoms of cold which is due to ear which is due to upper respiratory tract infection. As it is spreading to ear's which seems to be due to eustachian tube dysfunction which is causing these symptoms. Need not to worry. I would suggest you to take nasal sprays and do warm saline gargles Put otogesic drops in ear. You should take antibiotic Ciprofloxacin for one week. Avoid pricking ear with sharp object. Visit ENT specialist once and get it examined. You should get paranasal sinus x-ray done along with otoscopic examination and start treatment after proper diagnosis. Avoid oily and sharp food. Drink plenty of fluids.
Hope your concern has been resolved.
