Thanks for your question on Health Care Magic.
I can understand your concern.
In my opinion, they are looking for multiple organ involving disease like
connective tissue disease (CTD).
CTD s can involve lungs, heart, skin, brain etc.
In lung involvement, CTD can cause fibrosis,
bronchitis,
pneumonia etc.
So your
chronic cough can be due to any of the above mentioned lung pathology.
So better to
consult pulmonologist and get done
1. Clinical examination of respiratory system
2. Chest x ray and CT thorax to rule out fibrosis and pneumonia.
3. PFT (Pulmonary Function Test) for the diagnosis of bronchitis.
So better to first diagnose yourself and then start appropriate treatment.
You may need antibiotics, antihistamines, inhaled bronchodilators and inhaled corticosteroid (ICS).
Hope I have solved your query.
Wish you good health. Thanks.
