What Is The Treatment For Cold Sore Outbreak And Itching In Skin?
I have herpes 1 and have developed a light rash on my chest and back resembling small pimples. I did develope a cold sore on my mouth for about eight days now. It s almost gone. I thought my itchy skin rash was from dryness in the house. The itchyness of the skin and cold sore outbreak started pretty much at the same time. Should I seek treatment or just wait out the skin and cold sore until they are gone. How long can the rash last?
You seemto have herpes simlex labialis and generalised pruritus. Herpes simplex is caused by HSV 1 virus. There may be clusters of small vesicles on the lip and the lesion may relapse. There may be reduced immunity due to some cause. You have generalised pruritus. That may be due to xerosis..means dry skin. Antiviral like acyclovir may be taken in appropriate dose for few days to few weeks. Apply acyclovir cream on the lesions. For dry skin, you may apply moisturiser containing liquid paraffin. Avoid soap bath. Have blood tests to rule out thyroid dysfunction and DM. You consult dermatologist to have firm diagnosis and treatment. I hope you got my answer.
