I suffer from hair loss. Someone suggested that I use Hairmax Comb and take Finax tablets 1mg. Can you advise if this is the best treatment possible? Also, what are the challenges if one wants to stop taking this medicine? I also have Thyroid problem for which I am taking Thyroxine 75mg. Does Finax create a problem if taken along with Thyroxine?
Hi, Welcome to HCM. I have gone through your question and understand your concern.
Finax is used to decrease the male hormones in your body which is a cause of male pattern hair loss. In my practice I use this medication for patients with polycystic ovarian disease with increased male hormones. Please check your testosterone levels before starting on this medication. This medication wont interact with thyroxine.
Thyroid problems and vitamin deficiencies are common treatable causes of hair loss. Check your thyroid function tests and make sure you are taking correct dose of thyroxine.
Hope I have answered your query. If you have any further questions I will be happy to help With warm regards, Dr Ajish TP (MD,DM) Consultant Endocrinologist.
