What Is The Treatment For Heartburn And Stress?

hi im 13 years old and im 5' 2 1/2" and about 115 lbs. Lately i've been noticing some pains in my chest. I've had them probably for 2 1/2 weeks. i went to the doctors last week and they checked my heart beat and lungs and said that everything was fine, but then it seemed to get worse so i went back 2 days ago and they thought i possibly have heartburn or acid reflex. they took a sample of my blood and it came out that i had a slighty higher count of white blood cells. they said it was probably due to stress, but im not sure. he told me to start taking some prilosec but im afraid to because they didnt confirm if heartburn was the problem. Im not sure what to do anymore. Please help me

First of all let me tell you some common cause of chest Pain in your age .

Gastritis / Heart Burn , Muscular Pain , Costochondritis , Pleuritis ( Irritation of lung covering ) Heart problems .

As per your description your doctor has checked for your heart and lungs and said they are OK. So left is Gastritis / Heart Burn , Muscular Pain , Costochondritis all of which are clinical diagnosis means they are diagnosed most of the time without any investigations .

If you can describe me the character of chest pain ( whether it is Burning , pricking or squeezing kind ) , Location of pain and any radiation of pain I will differentiate among the above mentioned causes and give you the diagnosis .

Till then you can take Prilosec as it is a very safe drug . Kindly revert back .
