I was diagnosed with hydrosalpinx 3 weeks ago and told to follow up with gynecologist. Is this a dangerous condition, how can I get it treated in my situation?
Hi, Hydrosalpinx is a condition where the fallopian tube(s) get filled with clear fluid and enlarge as one or both the ends are blocked. Most often, this occurs as a result of a past pelvic infection and can also happen due to past surgeries, endometriosis and so on. Mostly asymptomatic, it may present with pelvic pain or infertility. Treatment depends on the clinical condition and can vary from repair of the tubes after relieving the blocks, removal of the damaged tube to removal of the uterus, tubes. It is not a dangerous condition if diagnosed and treated early. Wish you good health.
