Hi,I am Dr. Gopal Goel (Orthopaedic Surgeon). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
My knee occasionally gives way under stress and causes intense pain. It gives way inwardly. It hurts to straighten it out, the quicker it straightens the more it hurts. The pain is just below the knee cap. There is no ligament or tendon damage according to doctors.

Physical Therapist or Physiotherapist, Jenis Bhalavat's Response
Hi
Since the pain is below the knee cap it can be degenerative arthritis or bursitis or a quadriceps sprain. In either of these cases you need to take rest. You can apply ice, and doing knee press will help. Application of ointment (containing Diclofenac) or painkiller sprays (Relispray) will help.
Hope this helps you. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards, Dr. Jenis Bhalavat
