What Is The Treatment For Panic Attacks, Thyroid Cyst, And Enlarged Thyroid?
Hi my daughter is having issues she s having panic attacks they found a small cyst on her thyroid and her thyroid is slightly enlarged her t4 goes up and down the doctor thinks it s not her thyroid and all in her head .I think she needs to see an endocrinologist he refuses to give her a referral what can she s do
I am so sorry to hear about these symptoms and the findings of an enlarged thyroid. I find it quite difficult to understand that even with elevated T4 levels, the doctor would still make a case for this being totally psychological. Well, the most important is to help your daughter feel better and if he cannot, then he should strongly consider referring her to colleagues for a second opinion.
I don't know how the referral system in your country works but try to talk with the doctor again to see whether he can do this or at least send to a another physician for a second opinion.
I hope you find this helpful. I wish you well. Please, feel free to ask for more information if need be. Thanks. Dr. Ditah, MD.
