What Is The Treatment For Sharp Pain In The Ear While Yawning?

Hi, I am having issues with my left ear. Whenever I burp, yawn or hiccup I feel a sharp, stabbing pain go trough the inside of my ear. It has been like this for 2 days. The rest of the time it feels fine. I am 23 years old, 5 Feet 4 Inches. 110 lbs. I havent had this problem before.

Hello,

Yawning normally opens the eustachian tube. When the tube is blocked, symptoms develop because the pressure in the ear is different than the pressure outside of your eardrum. Altitude changes are the most common cause of this condition. Try an over-the-counter pain reliever, such as acetaminophen to relieve the pain.
