Neurologist 's  Response
Hello! From your description it might be possible that your daughter suffers from obstructive sleep apnea. It is charachterized by unexpectedly stop and restart of breathingduring sleep, because of decrease or lack of air flow and excessive daytime sleepiness This condition present with loud snoring, gasping and choking that may wake the patient or even someone in the same room, restless sleep or insomnia, tiredness when awake, morning confusion, daytime fatigue and decreased vigilance, daytime sleep during activities such as reading or watching tv, depression and anxiety. It happens mostly in patients wich have some structural features and risk factors(facial elongation, small jaw bone, adenotonsillar hypertrophy, brachiocephalic head, obesity, large neck circumference, hypothyroidism, alcohol use, smoking, male sex, supine sleeping position, acromegaly etc). You should set an appointment with a neurologist so he/she can make the relevant tests and examinations (most important polysomnography) to diagnose or rule out this condition.
I hope i have been of help
