What Is The Treatment For Sore And Swollen Throat And Temporal Lobe Epilepsy?
For the last 4 days my throat has been soar and hurts to swallow. For about 3 days i have bee n coughing now and again, but the throat is not easing off like it usually does. It also looksquite swollen under the adams apple.I am49 years old and wiegh 9 half stone. I have suffered with temporal lobe epilepsy for 44 years but had op in 2003 to clear it but it triggered coeliac disease and left me with simple partial seizures instead of tonic clonic ones. It also left me with hyperthyroid .
Sore throat may be due to viralor bacterial or allergic in origin. It is treated with Amoxicillin with clavulinic acid 625 mg twice a day for five days. Use tab. levocetrizine in case of cold.
avoid cool drinks and freeze water. Use water vapour inhalation and salt water gargling thrice a day. For temporal lobe epilepsy we have to rule out any intracranial pathology by MRI brain.
Use tab. levetricetam 500 twice a day under your neurophysician advice. Avoid driving and high risk activities. If symptoms not improved please consult your physician he will examine and treat you accordingly.
