Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
My eleven year old daughter swims competetively. Yesterday she brought to my attention sores between all of her toes! Could this be a symptom of athletes foot? There have also been several children diagnosed with the hand, foot, and mouth disease on her swim team.
Hi, It seems that your daughter might be having yeast infection on interdigital spaces. Due to constant foot remaining in water and afterward if this space is not kept dry, risk of having yeast infection is more likely. Wet and dumpy area is good medium to grow fungus. Apply ant-fungal cream or talc after making the area dry. Make a habit of cleaning and drying the inter-digital spaces after swimming. Ok and take care.
