Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Monday morning I woke up with 5-6 small sores on the corner of my mouth. I have never had this happen before and not sure how to treat it or what action to take. I ve never had cold sores and rarely cancar sores. I recently ran a 1/2 marathon on Saturday then sunday morning I had a blemish pop up on my cheeck that was not acne, then this on Monday. Not sure if its being cause by the lactic acid or of this is maybe a food related item. Any advice you can give me would be great.
- as you ran a marathon on Saturday, you might have become dehydrated and exhausted that have triggered sores in mouth
- you might have experience a viral infection (unnoticed) that has shown up with mouth sores
- foods/drinks that you might have consumed recently
- any new medication/supplement you have taken recently
I advise to avoid foods/drinks that might irritate your mouth. Keep a good oral hygiene. Apply 1 teaspoon of honey mixed with little soda bicarbonate on the sores.
If no improvement, should contact your doctor for further evaluation.
Wish fast recovery! Dr.Albana
