What Is The Treatment For The Parkinson's Disease With Swollen Legs, Edema And High FBS?
hi my uncle is suffering from parkinson's and lately we notice that he got a swollen legs vein and edema..we did a blood sugar test and the result are as follows;FBS 163.4 TOTAL CHOLESTEROL 115.0 TRIGLYCERIDE 151.60 HDL CHOLESTEROL 45.4 AND LDL CHOLESTEROL 39.28...could you please interpret for me the findings..thanks
Hi, Thanks for asking. Based on your query, my opinion is as follows. 1. Swollen legs, vein and edema is possibly related to postural edema secondary to cardiac cause or medications. In lying down position, limb elevation above heart level using pillow (2-3) will reduce it. 2. FBS is high and will lead to complications in long term. It needs to be brought into control with diet modification, medication, weight reduction and counseling. 3. Triglyceride is mildly raised. Not to worry. Once glucose levels come under control due to lifestyle change, it will also improve. 4. Regular medication for Parkinson's disease, diabetes mellitus is very important. Hope it helps. Any further queries, happy to help again.
