What Is The Treatment For The Nerve Pain And Pain In The Face?

Is nerve pain/facial pain permanent. I took 7 day course of mirabegron and had tongue ulcer and pain in my jaw. Tongue ulcer gone but pain just grew worse and is very unbearable. Taking cocodamal and tramadol as ibuprofen and paracetamol ineffective. Went to dentist and xray and examination is all normal. My doc then gave me amitriptyline. Is this permanent? I hate to have to live with this extreme pain.
