Hello,
You have history of suffering from Demodex
mite infection. Presently, you are having sores on your legs. To prevent further infection, you should take care of your hygiene. Wash the sores thoroughly with running water and anti-microbial soap. If you have open sores, visit ER, get antiseptic dressing done. You can take a course of Augmentin or
metronidazole to help faster healing. Get antiseptic dressing done every alternate day. Do not pop, touch or scratch.
Control your blood glucose level so that the wound does not take long to heal. Limit your intake of
carbohydrate. Applying topically permethrin or
benzyl benzoate may help, but if the sores are open do not apply it. Get examined by a
dermatologist. Do not share your toiletries & wash your clothes frequently in hot water.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Nupur K., General & Family Physician
