What Is The Treatment Procedure For The Knee Arthroscopy And Chondromalacia And Osteophytes?
Have had an knee arthroscopy and discovered chondritis disuse cans with 4th grade chondromalacia on both medial condyles also osteophytes. The osteophytes was abraded but the surface of exposed bone was too large to perform. Icroftactures. What would be the next step?
If these defects are very large for microfracture then other treatment remaining are 1. Mosaicplasty- in this cartilage taken from other part of joint is applied at the defect. It is a cheap procedure and results are good. 2. Autologus chondrocyte implantation- cartilage are grown in lab and then applied in your defect. It is two stage surgery and take time. i would recommend you to go for ACI if money is not the problem.
