Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
What Is The Usual Procedure For Lexiscan Myocardial Perfusion Stress Test?
Had a Lexiscan Myocardial perfusion stress test yesterday. It wa a resting test, not an exercise test. I had virtually no symptoms d uring the test but on the last set of pictures, when they were finished. I was asked to lay on my stomach for additional pictures. Why would this be done?
A myocardial perfusion stress test is done to look at the different parts of your heart to assess which portions are healthy, which have been experiencing some deficiency in blood supply and which are dead. It is likely that you were asked to lie on your stomach to get another angle on your heart.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Pranav Balakrishnan, General & Family Physician
