Hi,I am Dr. Amitkumar Sharma (Internal Medicine Specialist). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
What Is Your Opinion About Being Prescribed Gabastar-M For Neuralgia Daily?
i am 46 years old suffering from neurolgia doctor prescribed me GABASTAR-M eachtablet 300mg daily. but the doctor told me that there are no side effects as it is only a vitamin supplement. even he told me to take for 3months if the conditon is improving. kindly suggest me .
Gabast-M is a combination of gabapentin and vitamin B12 (methylcobalmin) and is commonly prescribed to treat painful nerve conditions like post herpetic neuralgia (caused by herpes virus or shingles), diabetic neuropathy and fibromyalgia.
Its common side effects include drowsiness, dizziness, problems with coordination, double vision, ankle swelling and dry mouth. Continue to take as prescribed and if you are not comfortable ask your doctor for an alternate effective but a safer medication.
Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Mohammed Taher Ali, General & Family Physician
