General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

Gabast-M is a combination of gabapentin and vitamin B12 (methylcobalmin) and is commonly prescribed to treat painful nerve conditions like post herpetic neuralgia (caused by herpes virus or shingles), diabetic neuropathy and fibromyalgia.

Its common side effects include drowsiness, dizziness, problems with coordination, double vision, ankle swelling and dry mouth. Continue to take as prescribed and if you are not comfortable ask your doctor for an alternate effective but a safer medication.

Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Mohammed Taher Ali, General & Family Physician
