What Kind Of Treatment Is Recommended For This Pelvic Ultrasound Test Result?

Hi my mother is havimg fibroid.& i m sending you her ultrasound report She has anteverted uterus. Fundo cervical length is 7.8cm. Endometerial thickness measure s 6.9mm. Well defined hypoechoic area im the posterior wall of uterus, intramural measuring 21mm in diameter, suggestive of fibroid. This all was written in her report so i refer it to the doctor & she said that i should go for its surgery. General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

The fibroid is a small one and does not usually require intervention. Generally, a watchful waiting policy is implied.

If she is having symptoms like pain or bleeding surgery can be considered.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Shinas Hussain,
General & Family Physician
