What Levels Of Blood Pressure Are Considered As Hypertensive?

Hello Doctor. My medical record says I am hypertensive. I have not seen this while keeping my own record. The reading is always on the low side and my family are all on low good side my usual bp is from 97/53 up to 107/68. Is this considered high by some doctors. Also my pulse rate is usually up to 117 .

Hello my friend
I am Dr.Arianisa
Thanks for your question on HCM

Hypertension, IS referred to as high blood pressure, is a condition in which the arteries have persistently elevated blood pressure. Every time the human heart beats, it pumps blood to the whole body through the arteries. The normal level for blood pressure is below 120/80.
Hypertension may be classified:
1.Stage 1 hypertension - BP in surgery/clinic is ≥140/90 mm Hg and ABPM (ambulatory blood pressure monitoring ) or HBPM ( home blood pressure monitoringis) ≥135/85 mm Hg.
2.Stage 2 hypertension - BP in surgery/clinic is ≥160/100 mm Hg and ABPM or HBPM is ≥150/95 mm Hg.
3.Severe hypertension - BP in surgery/clinic is ≥180/110 mm Hg or highe
But your pulse rate is high .
BP 97/53 ,107/68 are not high are low ..when BP is low pulse is higher than normal.Make an good measure of the BP and talk to your doctor again

Hope this information is helpful to you
Best regards
