What Medications Are Advisable For Neck Sprain Other Than Painkillers?

Sir, As I refrain myself of taking pain killers so wanted to know the following. What are the chemical compounds which are in a medicine composition should be considered as painkillers? Is Mobizox a painkiller? Is there any alternative for neck sprain other than painkillers like mobizox? Regards, Sambit

Yes Sambit, Mobizox is what you'd call in common parlance, a painkiller. It is a combination of Diclofenac ( an analgesic - anti pain ), paracetamol ( an anti-inflammatory drug, since the affected tissue will be painful + inflamed ) and Chlorzoxazone, which blocks neuro-muscular nerve endings to relax the tensed and spasming muscle. In acute musculoskeletal injuries, you can take a drug like Mobizox for 3-5 days, depending on severity. Alternately, some non-drug home remedies include ice-pack compression at the time of injury, or a warm compress later for the pain. You can also use diclofenac spray or ointment topically. A warm bath and relaxing massage helps too, while also being much more enjoyable than swallowing a tasteless pill :-D
