Hallow Dear,
I am indeed sorry to learn about your
pregnancy loss at 30 weeks of pregnancy.
Fortunately, your doctor has given you the underlying cause of the intrauterine foetal death. The condition you had was abruptio placentae where the placenta gets separated from the uterine wall and thus the supply of the nutrients and oxygen to the baby is jeopardized.
There are many causes of such abruption of the placenta.
High blood pressure, pre-eclampsia, any trauma over the uterus,
diabetes, severe
anaemia, etc. are the few important amongst the list.
The first investigation you should undergo would be Haemogramme. This will inform you about the anaemia as well as any other blood abnormalities.
Before you become pregnant again, please get your blood pressure and urine examined to find out whether you are having high blood pressure. Also it will inform you about the basic level of your blood pressure for further follow up in the pregnancy. Please also get your blood sugar checked for any evidence of diabetes.
If there are any alarming signs, please get them treated before you conceive again.
Even though they are within normal limits, please keep a close watch on these parameters during the pregnancy to detect any of them at the earliest occurrence. Monitoring the pregnancy with
ultrasonography will facilitate to observe the placental growth and any signs of risk to the placenta.
During pregnancy, once you start feeling the foetal movements, please keep a foetal movements count. They should be 10 in 12 hours.
Folic acid deficiency may cause improper growth of placenta and lead to
placental abruption. Hence, right from the day you get this message, please start daily consumption of Folic acid and also iron tablets, irrespective of when you plan your next pregnancy.
Depending up on the reports of these investigations, you may plan your pregnancy with the help of your Obstetrician. Once you miss your period, please enroll yourself for antenatal care with expert Obstetrician, ASAP. Let your Obstetrician know the detailed history about the loss of your baby.
I hope this should guide you primarily. The further guidance will depend up on the reports of investigations.
