My son has a resting heart rate of 119 bpm, and has discomfort in abdomen, chest and a very tight belly. He has been pausing after every inhale like he is pushing before exhaling. Just fell asleep after hours of this behavior. What should I watch for? He has no fever according to temporal therm.

Thanks for your question on Health Care Magic.
By your history and description, possibility of stress and anxiety related symptoms is more. But better to rule out cardiac and Pulmonary causes first.
So get done ecg and 2d echo. If both are normal than no need to worry for cardiac diseases.
Get done chest x ray and PFT (Pulmonary Function Test) to rule out Pulmonary causes. If both are normal, than no need to worry for Pulmonary causes.
Sometimes anxiety can also cause similar symptoms.
So better to consult him with psychiatrist and get done counseling sessions.
Try to identify stressor in his life and start working on its solution. He may need anxiolytic drugs too. Don't worry, he will be alright.
Hope I have solved your query. Wishing good health to your son. Thanks.
