What Should I Do To Stop The Diarrhea Caused By The Sompraz HP Kit While Being Treated For H. Pylori?

I have been identified with h pylori positive with blood test. H pylori antigen iga test. It is 128 . I have been given with sompraz hp kit for 30 days. But I m having diarrhoea after taking this medicine. I m having bifilac tablets even then my diarrhoea is not stopped. What should I do to get free from this diarrhoea.

Hi,

The Sompraz HP kit has 3 main ingredients, the antibiotic clarithromycin, can cause diarrhea unfortunately. The use of the Bifilac tablets was a good idea to try and stop the diarrhea, you may also try diarrhea specific medication since we know that the diarrhea is not due to infection but a side effect. You can try Pepto Bismol or Loperamide. If these do not work, your doctor may need to change you to a different H pylori regimen, there are other options.
