What Should Be Done To An Infant For Sinus Over A Long Duration Of Time And Having High Fever And Pain In The Hip Joint?

i have a fifteen month old boy, who tends to have constant sinus problems. The last few weeks the drainage has been thick, sticky, and yellow. He developed a rash on his face which the doctor said would go away. The rash has not gone away and he has had it for close to month and a half. He woke up this morning and threw up and is running a fever, and has a limp and soreness in his hip. We took him to the doctor this morning, and she said that the bacteria has probaly settled in the hip joint. His temp was 99.6. you can see in his eyes that he doesn't feel well. No medicine has been prescribed during this long period of illness and I wonder is I am over reacting. I am afraid of some horrible outcome from doing nothing like meningitis. This baby had been sick long enough.

definately you need to admit your baby for course of i.v. antibiotics. as histoty suggest baby has a focus of infection in upper respiratory tract. and probably is in bacterial sepsis. it might have involved hip joint. 3weeks course of antibiotics is important and also mri hip.
