What Should I Ask The Doctor After A Kidney Biopsy With Diabetes?
My 69 yr old brother had a kidney biopsy today. He is diabetic. His kidney markers are BUN 68, creatin(sp) 6.12. He has been hospitalized for the past week and a half. My question is: what questions should I ask the doctors? I am his power of atty for medical. I want to be able to understand better. As a note, he has had bladder cancer three times in the last 17 years. I am not sure I am getting information unless I ask direct questions, and I am not sure what else I can ask. Thank you. Cynthia
Hi His blood urea and creatinine values are high .As you say he is diabetic and past history of bladder pathology. You can ask about the biopsy report( is it diabetic sclerosis ) you can ask about line of treatment for his condition, the status of his bladder condition, the prognosis. These are the certain things which help you to plan accordingly . Hope this answers your query.
