What To Do For Cold And Weak Voice?

I had a slight cold this past weekend. I taught/preached 3 times and during 2 of the messages, my voice was hoarse but I kept speaking with intensity, zeal. It s now Wed night, and my voice is still somewhat weak--I can t project as I usually can with no problem. Hopefully I kept my voice strength back. did I ruin anything? etc?

HI, thanks for using healthcare magic

You have laryngitis which is inflammation of the larynx.

It is most commonly caused by : (1)infection such as the common cold

(2) over use of the voice

You mainly need to rest your voice as much as possible. If you continue to use it while you are hoarse, it will take longer to resolve.

I hope this helps

Hi
Welcome to Health care magic

Cold and weak voice is because of associated laryngitis. This will resolve with treatment for cold, hence no need to worry.
Use of salt water gurgling will help in early resolution of symptoms.

Thank you for writing to us.
