What To Do For My Hip Flexor Strain?

I am 30 weeks pregnant. I have a hip flexor strain and i just went to the chiropractor after having this pain for three weeks. Should my OB doc have any xrays taken? It hurts to walk and sitting standing or walking is causing extreme pain. I have done stretches, ice, heat, baths.

Hey thanks for your faith in the health care Magic
I have gone through your question and I understood your problem.
Hip pain is really common during pregnancy. It can occur at any time during pregnancy, but is generally the most problematic in the third trimester.I will suggest few maesures which will help you reduce it
1.Use ice or heat.
2.Take acetaminophen for pain.
3.See a chiropractor, massage therapist, or acupuncturist.
4.Use a pregnancy belt or support device.
When lying down use a pregnancy pillow.
5.Have your partner help you with pregnancy pain relief techniques.
6.Take a warm bath.
7.Herbal medicine.
In any of the following case you should approach to your obstetrician immediately.
1.Your hip pain is very intense.
2.Your hip pain is getting increasingly worse.
3.You have rhythmic hip and pelvic pain that feels like menstrual cramps.
4.You are having spotting or bleeding.
Try to avoid xray as much as you can as it will harm your baby.If at all you want to get it done it shud only be done with lead plates surrounding the baby and after discussing with your obstetrician. Thank you.
