hello sir i am aman and i am suffering from dns. i do jalaneti(yogic procedure of passing saline water through nostrils) daily.it clears of the nose but after 4-5 hrs i start feeling blockage ( in any one of nostrils)again.also when i wake up in morning i feel blockage in one of nostrils due to effect of fan.the blockage is not resticted to any one side of nose. sometimes left side is blocked n sometimes right side. also i have heard that after getting dns operated there are chances of recurrence.plz guide me to get best solution.
As an ENT specialist I suspect DNS (deviated nasal septum) in your case in this condition there is compensatory hypertrophy of turbinates in other nostril this may be reason for your alternating nose block.
I recommend you to visit your ENT specialist and get your nose examined and investigations like diagnostic nasal endoscopy and CT scan PNS.
Treatment is Septoplasty or submucus resection of septum and recurrence is none.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards, Dr. Siddartha
