What To Do For The Pain In The Knee When Blending?

Hi,
I was carrying very heavy boxes down 2 flights of stairs. Within an hour my left knee started clicking when I bend it and I have pain on the lower part of the knee cap when I go up or down the steps now. Could I have torn my acl? Or could it just be a strain and I can put on a knee brace?

Orthopaedic Surgeon, Joint Replacement 's  Response
This is not ACL tear but just knee strain or at max it can be chondromalacia that is softening of cartilage at knee cap. I would suggest you to take Brufen tablet and apply ice over the joint and for time being avoid running or staircase climbing. If pain is more then you should consult with a orthoapedic surgeon.
