What To Do If Am Having Irregular Bleeding After Having Abortion By Taking Mifepristone?
I had an abortion at 4 weeks pregnancy. Using mifepriston. I bled after 30mins of taking the vaginal surpositories. The clots were normal and a large lump on the 2nd day. Bleeding continued for 2 weeks and began to clear like the end of a period. 2days later bleeding started again. I theen went to see my GP for a checkup, after 5 weeks as I had missed my appointment 2 weeks after the abortion. He suggested a pelvic scan which was clear and no abnormalities were noticed. He then prescribed hormonal pills that I took for 10 days and another for 5 days. I was told I had a hormone imbalance. My period stopped on the 3rd day of taking the pills. But after 5 days started again. Stopped bleeding for another 2 days and it started again. This is now week 2 and am bleeding lightly. Should I be worried? When does bleeding stop completely and when should I expect a normal period?
Hello! Thanks for your query. You do not need to worry because is normal: spotting that lasts up to six weeks heavy bleeding for a few days bleeding that stops and starts again You have done and ultrasound scan to exclude incomplete abortion. Take care of your self and eat a plenty diet to get your force back.
