What To Do If Blister Is Formed On The Residual Limb After Lower Leg Was Amputated?

10 years ago I had my left lower leg amputated. I recovered and resumed a fairly normal life. Recently I have developed a pea size blister on the weight - bearing portion of the residual limb due to an ill-fitting prosthesis. Other than pain, can this blister develope into any other serious issue or can I just bear the pain and let it slowly heal? I am nearly 50 years of age and perhaps slightly over-weight, non-smoker and light drinker and usually heal quickly though because of the nature and location of the wound I know that I cannot expect my usual rate of healing. Any advice?
