What To Do If Getting Metallic Taste In Mouth After Taking Concerta?
hello, I have been taking concerta for 4 months and during the last few days i have been experiencing a metallic taste in my mouth - mouth has been dry since day 2 of taking concerta. any suggestions for getting rid of metallic taste thank you in advance
Some patients (mostly in the age group of 40 to 49 yrs) especially female may get metallic taste in the mouth with Concerta (Methylphenidate) usage for 1 to 6 months, particularly in association with Cataplexy. Take sips of water frequently, suck on ice chips or sugarless hard candy, or chew sugarless gum if dry mouth occurs.
In case of attention-deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) it is advised to discontinue drug periodically to assess behavior and determine need to continue drug.
Alternatively dose may be reduced for metallic taste in mouth. Consult your doctor.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
