Hi,I am Dr. Amitkumar Sharma (Internal Medicine Specialist). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
What To Do If Having Clear Liquid Filled Blisters On Lips, Nose After Taking Spironolactane?
My dermatologist prescribed spironolactane 50 mg and Aczone for hormonal acne. It worked great until last week when I went from 25-50 mg of the spironolactane and now I have clear liquid filled looking blisters on my lips, above the lips, side of nose and very itchy rash on my chest and hives on my arms.
Based on the history given I am of the opinion that you seem to be suffering Stevens-Johnson syndrome which is characterized by a painful red or purple rash with blisters on the lips, inside the mouth, hives, etc.
Aczone (a sulfur containing medication) appears to be responsible for this condition.
Since it can be a serious skin condition, hence I would advise you to visit the emergency room immediately for further evaluation and treatment till then stop taking all the prescribed medications.
Hope this will help you. Take care.
