What To Do If Ultrasound Shows Ovarian Cyst Adenoma?
On my Pelvis ultra sound it said, I have a very large multiseptated cystic mass fills the pelvis. The mass measures 14.8 x 11.0 x 13.0 cm in diameter and most likely represents a large cyst of ovarian origin. A normal right ovary is not visulaized. The left ovary appears to be normal in both size and architectue. The uterus has an unremarkable appearance.. Impression: A 14.8 cm diameter septated cystic mass, likely of right ovarian origin. This most likely represents an ovarian cyst adenoma. I am going to my surgion tomorrow but I want another opinion. What does this mean ?
A large cystic lesion with size as mentioned by you must be removed surgically. It is difficult to say if its benign or malignant until pathological analysis is done. If you do not have weight loss, generalized weakness or fluid accumulation then its most likely benign. If you had got is scanned earlier then even those reports need to be compared with present ones. Surgery is simple in these cases as it involves removal of the tumor only.
