What Treatment Is Suggested For Cyst In The Breast?

I had a cyst in the breast and as a result went to the hospital and was operated on The incision was made around the circle of the breast. Since then I continue to have infections reoccurrence. All of this seems to be resulting from a hardening of the layer of skin because I was not stitched in any way. This is my second reoccurrence and it worries me. I am treated with antibiotics. The doctor suggests another surgery to stop the recurrences. I can t take a mammogram because the infection could spread. What should I do. My doctor is a surgeon. What specific doctor should I see

Hello,

If the infections are recurring, there is a definite possibility of an abscess collection. The abscess needs to be surgically drained along with the use of appropriate antibiotics (ideally chosen according to culture and sensitivity results) for complete recovery.

You can continue seeing your surgeon for necessary management.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
